Some of you may remember me calling Hyundai's new design philosophy weird and I may have said a thing or two about the new Sonata looking a bit like a fish. Hyundai has released the first official photo of its new i-Flow (yes, I know. Get all of your period jokes out now) and the only word that can properly describe this car is "wow!"
Grilles and character lines and creases oh my! To say that the i-Flow is aggressively designed is the understatement of the year. Just look at all of those sharp lines? Those headlights are just looking to get into a bar fight. Every single line on this car was designed by a man with a grudge. Possibly because his wife had run off with a doctor. Just saying.
The Hyundai i-Flow is a diesel hybrid (much like those gorgeous French cars). The car is powered by the new U2 powerplant, a 1.7 liter turbocharged engine as well as a Lithium Ion-Polymer battery. Thanks to its very low drag coefficient and the diesel hybrid engine, the i-Flow is said to produce 3L/100KM or 78.4 mpg (according to Google's calculations anyway).
Hyundai says that the entire of the car will be focused around a large, contoured touchscreen. The screen will also support gestures (like swiping) along the entire screen. No word yet how many points it can support but a multitouch dashboard would be sweet (I wish I could say it like Jeremy Clarkson does. Video of that below)
TheCD's Take: Hyundai's design philosophy is taking shape. If they keep producing aggressive machines like this, how can you not love them?
