A Greece, NY man claims that he faced the wrath of a stuck accelerator pedal today after his Toyota Tundra would not stop.
Miguel Millan told police it started on Route 390 North as he was exiting onto the Lake Ontario State Parkway. He said the pedal got stuck on 390 North near Ridge Rd, and he could not stop. For about four miles, he weaved in and out of rush hour traffic and was "virtually standing on his brake pedal."
As he approached the 390 exit ramp to Lake Ontario State Parkway, he did not want to hit a vehicle in front of him and veered off the right shoulder. He struck a small tree and came to rest in a tree line about 50 yards from the road.
A local Toyota dealership now has his Tundra and he said they are treating him well. He says he is frustrated though that Toyota put his life "in jeopardy and he cannot get any answers."
theCD's take: Is this Toyota's fault or are people taking advantage of the automaker now? Why did he not put the Tundra into neutral? We're interested to see what the dealership says.
