Earlier today, Ford released images of the shifter from the 2010 mustang. From the pics it seems to guarantees short throws, at least on the GT model. The knob, which looks very similar to the current accessory shifter, is made completely from machined aluminum. Ford opted to go with a leather shift boot instead of an aluminum gate that was seen on the Ford GT. We expect the chrome accents and the aluminum knob will come as accessories on most models and standard equipment on higher end models such as the Mustang GT. We will keep you updated, as Ford keeps dropping teasers every week.

I'm getting so sick of these string of teaser shots...you know the final product is going to basically look like a facelifted version of the current model!

So true, it is a really nice looking shifter though.

Dan, I totally agree. Getting some buzz going about your new product is one thing, but this teaser shot business is getting ridiculous. On the other hand, at least Ford didn't pull a Bob Lutz and release photos of the whole car 18 months before it was scheduled to hit showrooms, i.e. 2009 Camaro. It's all about finding a balance between teasing your fans with too little information and annoying them with too much, I suppose.
