LeftLaneNews has illustrated what they believe the next Jetta will look like, and we think it looks accurate given Volkswagens current portfolio.
The redesigned Jetta will definitely get the new Golf's grille and sleeker, Audi-like rear end. It will also be getting long and wider, possibly to dimensions that are close to the upcoming Chevrolet Cruze.
Volkswagen said they were trying to cut manufacturing costs by making their designs simpler, which should help the Jetta's base price and make this compact German be a bit more competitive.
Powertrains should get a bit more efficinet. A diesel will definitely be an option, but we hope VW can modify, or replace their four-cylinder engines with newer, more efficient designs.
If all goes as expected, the next Jetta will be built at the Puebla, Mexico plant where the current model is being manufactured.
