North Carolina will become the 14th state to ban texting while driving. The law goes into effect on December 1, 2009. North Carolina will join Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and Washington in banning texting for all drivers.
