"Welcome to New England!" is what Mother Nature told us today, with a mix of weather that astounded us all. It rained overnight but looked to be clearing up for another hot day, and instead peppered us with scattered thunderstorms. The rain thankfully cooled things off, and it was a great day spent with a group of awesome people. NEPOC and Cleveland6Club combined for a day of barbecuing, beer, photo shoots and other such debauchery. It was an off day at the track (Lime Rock Park does no racing on Sundays, due to sound regulations), so several of the drivers came up to say hi and check out our cars. One, who used to drive a Mazda 6 for Grand-Am and now drives a BMW, came up and played guitar and sang a few songs, which was a definite surprise.

Towards the end of the day we set up for a photo shoot, and although many of this weekend's attendees weren't able to make it, we still had a very strong showing at 14 cars. The craziest thing of the day was definitely the 1/4 inch sized hail that fell later on, making it seem a bit like winter on the second day of summer.
Tomorrow is going to be even bigger and better, with the much faster Grand Sport series Grand-Am cars racing (BMW's, Mustangs and Porches) as well as another F2000 race, and pace laps! Once again, stay tuned to my Twitter updates tomorrow for pics and comments throughout the day, and later on the final article and links to pics and video.
Here are the pictures and video from today:

What a great event and photos, I love that 6 in red and dark tinted windows
I swear that RX-8 with the brass wheels is in every promo shot for the weekend... Not that I'm complaining, big fan of it.
Hahah, no for the first I used Lime Rock's logo, the 2nd was the race RX-8, and the 3rd (day 2) was the F2000 cars :P
This red RX-8 WAS in the OCC shot however, and I do take a lot of pics of it. It's my friend Josh's car, very nice, clean, well taken care of garage queen ;)
