Like everything else disheartening in this economy, NBC has made some sacrifices and cut Top Gear from its lineup.

According to Jalopnik sources, NBC says that they passed on the opportunity to have the show "after the failure of the new Knight Rider series and high production costs associated with the show." Top Gear says that they have found a few interested networks and are working on the details, hoping to get the show up shortly.

We hope that Spike, The History Channel, or the Discovery Channel get the show, since most of its demographic watch those channels. If you have never seen Top Gear before, check out this clip and you will get an idea of how cool, funny, and crazy this show is. (Thanks Nick)
