We at theCD recently discovered this great Website, Onlinemechanix. The creators of the online auto repair schedule site wanted to make it easier for vehicle owners to find a local mechanic, schedule their appointment and to keep track of their vehicle service history. By the same token, they also wanted to help mechanics by limiting the number of phone calls throughout the day that interrupts their work. Less time answering calls means more time working, which means car repairs and maintenance are completed faster.
They are located in many major cities such as Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Raleigh, Los Angles, Houston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle, and Las Vegas. Luckily, they’re also in less population dense cities and towns, with three shops being within 15 miles of our office. They’re currently in 15 states.
If you own a repair shop, Onlinemechanix is currently offering free membership to the site and at some point in the next twelve months will begin charging $20/month. In the near future they will offer conflict resolution to resolve disputes between repair shops and consumers to help maintain reputation of member shops and a auto parts buying group, which will result in lower auto parts prices for member shops as well! Onlinemechanix currently has over 500 member auto shops using the site since launching April 25, 2012.
