...Did you know that in 2008 you can still purchase a brand new Pontiac Grand Prix? Yes, we were as shocked to learn that as you are to read it. The Grand Prix continues to still be produced even while most have found their way into fleets of rental cars by this point. The name that once stood for Modern American muscle and brute now stands on only two models; those being the Toyota influenced Vibe, and new G8. After sitting in a 2005 model of the Grand Prix, I was left wondering how a car in this segment could exist and fall so far below the line in ever possible way. This article is not intended to slam General Motors for allowing a car to sell that rides on technology from 1997 but it is intended to point out some serious flaws in management. The quality of the parts and the fit of those parts are reminiscent of the mid 1990's Hyundai Sonata. In summation, we here at the CD love the name, and love the idea behind the Grand Prix, but would love to see a new interpretation and watch this one roll on to greener pastures.
