Our nation's capital, Washington DC, has been ranked The Worst Driving City in the US by Jalopnik. Apparently residents of DC are twice as likely to get into accidents as the rest of the nation. "There are so many possible reasons - the city's cross-hatch street layout, its population of drivers with diplomatic immunity, tour-bus related congestion - that it's hard to assign blame, exactly the kind of problem Washington excels in creating." commented Jalopnik.
The rankings were taken from Allstate's data, which insures 10% of US drivers. Jalopnik sorted through the data to compile the list and found which cities had the highest rates of accidents, and therefore were the Worst Driving Cities.
The College Driver would definitely like to hear our readers thoughts on this list. Do you agree or disagree? What cities should be on it? What cities should not? How do you feel drivers are where you live?

Somehow I am not surprised my city, Baltimore, is on the list. There are some bad drivers here, because we did not have an On-Road portion to the driving test until 2 years ago!
Dangerous driving, traffic gridlock, water & air pollution, crime, stress, cost of living, & other quality of life issues are all proportional to the extent of OVERPOPULATION; it's quite simple.
I grew up in/around Washington, DC and Alexandria, VA. Yes, driving there is pretty crazy. But, now I work in Burbank, CA and spend a lot of time in Glendale. Glendale takes the cake by a mile. B'more and DC might have more accidents, but I haven't seen nearly as many ridiculous driving maneuvers anywhere in the country as in Glendale.

sESYbu Major thanks for the blog.Really looking forward to read more. Will read on...
I'm not surprised...I get lost every time I drive to DC. As one tries to navigate the insanely confusing streets, one ends up doing the most ridiculous, probably dangerous moves just trying to get from A to B.
