Suzuki is recalling just over 5,000 Kizashi vehicles manufactured from October 13, 2009 through May 31, 2010. This means every Kizashi in the United States!

The Kizashi recall pertains to the center console storage area door located in front of the shifter. During federal government testing, the hinged door failed to stay closed in a crash, which meant it failed to conform to federal motor vehicle safety standard number 201.

Standard 201 states that areas of the instrument panel, seat backs, sun visors, arm rests, and interior compartment doors are required to remain closed during a crash. Otherwise, something could fly out and seriously injure occupants.

Suzuki will begin notifying owners on July 9, and replace the door with a redesigned one free of charge. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-714-996-7040 for more information.

This recall almost seems silly lol. Sounds like a 10 minute fix.
