Today, Lexus has announced that it will be recalling about 17,000 of their 2010 HS 250h models. The problem stems from when the vehicle is hit from certain directions fuel will spill.

Since most collisions involve sheet metal coming in contact with itself or road surfaces, there is a possibility that a spark could be created. When you put those two scenarios together things can go "BOOM".

Currently Toyota doesn't have a fix for the problem, but they are working on a solution. Affected owners should call Lexus at 1-800-255-3987 to determine their next course of action.
