Sure, it's a long way off, but who doesn't love juicy paparazzi shots of Ford's latest offerings?

The flagship of Ford's new global C-segment, the 2012 Focus, will finally be united with its European brethren. But of course, you knew that ever since the 2012 Focus caused commotion at the Detroit Auto Show this January.

The good news is that the European-based 2012 Focus that was shown in Detroit hasn't really been changed much. The bad news is that the hatchback version won't be seeing our side of the pond anytime soon.

The 2012 Focus looks sharp as ever, even with its camouflaged paint job. The angled headlamps and tight, arrowhead tails have been retained from the model we saw in Detroit, as well as the robust trapezoidal front grille and chromed foglamps. The rims on the test car were by no means terrible, however the five-spoke chromes on the Detroit prototype set the car off so much better.

One main difference that catches the eye is the placement of a small spoiler on the trunk of the sedan.

All in all though, we're happy to see that Ford has stayed true to the European design that we've all been craving for years.

Expect to see this all-new Focus on your streets in 2012.

Actually the hatchback version is on track to be released here along with the sedan version. It is the wagon version called the Focus Estate that we will not be getting, as this is due to poor sales of the original Focus wagon that was on sale here.
