This video is a perfect example of why humans should not rely on circuits and an algorithm to keep them safe. Volvo recently demonstrated their "Collision Warning with Auto Brake" feature that will be available as part of a $2,100 Technology Package on the redesigned S60 sedan. The press event was going smoothly until the moving S60 smashed into the back of the massive truck that it was supposed to avoid.

Epic fail for Volvo, or should we believe Volvo's claim that it was caused by human error? The purpose of this system is to compensate for us foolish, distracted humans though!

theCD's take: We'd never recommend buying a car with this feature. Put all that dough towards a great driving school in California, and a cute secretary to handle your phone calls/text messages.
