The 2011 Hyundai Elantra, also called the Avante overseas, has been unveiled at the Busan International Motor Show in South Korea. The redesigned Elantra has a fluid, curvy style similar to that of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata that's been popping up around town.
The Elantra is movin' on up with a more efficient and advanced powertrain. A 1.6-liter direct injected inline-four will be putting out 138 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque, and mated to either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission.
The current Elantra starts at $14,145 for the "eco" Blue trim-level. With the segment getting more competitive, we don't expect the redesigned model to go up much in price, but definitely in standard features.
theCD's take: So much better looking, efficient, safe, and a great value. We're hoping there's an SE trim with a tighter suspension too.
